Before My Trip
Aim to Arrive Early
We suggest arriving a day early to give yourself extra time to recover from jet lag. This is totally optional but if you decide to arrive early, there are many ways to spend that extra time. If you decide to arrive early please let us know, so we can discuss airport pick-up and drop off.
Your Arrival Details
Once you have booked your tour and you have booked your flights to Nicaragua, send us a copy of your flight information. This will allow us to track your flight so we can arrive on time to pick you up.
Travel Insurance & Visa
We stongly reccomend getting travel insurance for the duration of your trip. It’s not very expensive and will give you and your family a peace of mind. Before you leave check any visa restrictions, check your passport expiration date (your passport should be valid up to 6 months prior of your return date). If you have any questions regarding travel insurance and visas then let us know and we will help you.
When I Arrive
Your Airport Pick Up
We’ll be making one airport pick up on the day of your arrival, so try and make sure your flight arrives around 1pm or before. Once you book your flights, please send us a copy of your itinerary so we can make sure we are there to pick you up on time!
What Time To Arrive On Day
When booking your flight to Nicaragua we recommend arriving as early as you can. This will give you time to rest, freshen up and recover from that long flight. Most flights from America to Nicaragua arrive mid day.
Arriving 1 or 2 Days Early?
No problem! You can add extra nights of accommodation, just let us know once you decide. That way we can book you in the accommodation where we first start the trip to save you on any unnecessary moving around.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a way to connect and talk to others who have booked the same trip as me?
Yes, you definetly can! One thing we love about traveling is meeting new people. So that’s why we’ve created a Facebook Group for everyone to connect and talk to other group members who have already been on the tour or have signed up to go.

Take a look above in the ‘Trip details’ tab to get a detailed list of what is and is not included in the tour. To make it short all transportation, accommodation, entry tickets, and some of your meals are all included. The only thing you will need to arrange on your own is your international flight to and from Nicaragua, money for lunch & dinners, spending money and travel insurance.
What’s the accommodation like?
All of our accommodation is handpicked by us. We do this to ensure that when you are not out exploring you can relax in your amazing hotel or hostel room. On this tour you will be staying in a mix of hotels and upscale hostels.

Option 1 : Fly into Liberia Guanacaste Airport (LIR) located in Costa Rica right next to the Nicaraguan border.
Option 2 : Fly into Managua Airport (MGA) located in Nicaragua.
Is it safe to travel to Nicaragua?
Nicaragua is wedged between Costa Rica and Honduras and doesn’t get much attention when it comes to tourism. The safety of tourist is great in Nicaragua, and of course traveling with a local guide and in a group makes it even more safe. Nicaragua is one of the safest countries in all of Central America with petty crime (pickpocketing) being the #1 crime. Just be cautious of your personal items such as phones, purses, backpacks etc.
Can I come alone?
Of course you can! Traveling by yourself can be the most rewarding of all travel. You will make new friends and make life long connections with like minded travelers. If you decide to come alone, you will have the option to share a room with another tour member or pay a single supplement to have your own private accomodation.
How much spending money do I need?
Considering almost everything you need is included in the price of the tour, you wont need much! We would suggest bringing at least $300 usd to be safe. Everyone’s spending habbits are different, some people travel on a tight budget while others are more generous about their spending. If you love to shop, buy souvenir’s, or explore the nighlife more than the average person, you might consider bringing more money. Also throughout the trip you will have multiple chances to participate in optional excursions, which are not inlcuded in the price of the tour. So make sure you take a look at the price for any of the excursions you may be interested in and take that into consideration when deciding on a budget.
